These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the Irvako Newsroom website (the “Site”). The Site is operated by FADI B.V. (“Irvako Newsroom”, “we”, “us”, “our”) from Gessel 5, 3454 MZ Utrecht, Netherlands. By accessing or using the Site, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Site.
1. Acceptance, eligibility, and changes
By using the Site, you confirm that you are at least 16 years old and that you have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms. If you are under 18, you should use the Site only with the involvement of a parent or guardian. We may update these Terms from time to time to reflect changes in the Site, editorial practices, legal requirements, or security needs. Updated Terms will be posted on this page and will apply 14 days after posting, unless changes are required by law or address urgent security issues.
2. What the Site provides (and what it does not)
Irvako Newsroom publishes independent reporting and explanatory material focused on public-interest media moments in Canada. We may also provide a way to contact the newsroom, submit tips, or request commissioned reporting. The Site is informational and editorial in nature. It is not a broadcaster, not a press office, and not an official archive for any Canadian network or programme. References to broadcasts describe what was observed, recorded, or reviewed by our newsroom, and are presented with clear distinctions between verified material and unverified leads.
Nothing on the Site constitutes legal advice, financial advice, or professional services advice. Editorial content may be updated as new information becomes available, including through corrections, clarifications, or additional sourcing.
3. Editorial disclaimers and verification limits
Reporting about live media incidents often relies on partial records: consumer captures, time-shifted recordings, screenshots, transcripts, and post-broadcast edits. We work to separate what can be corroborated from what is still uncertain, but you understand that any developing story may contain provisional assessments. When we use words like “verified”, “corroborated”, or “confirmed”, we mean verified within our editorial methods and the evidence available to us at the time of publication.
The Site may include paraphrases of on-air statements, descriptions of broadcast graphics, and technical explanations of routing or switching. Those descriptions are made in good faith; they may not capture every production nuance. 4. Acceptable use
You agree to use the Site lawfully and in a way that does not harm the Site, our staff, or other users. In particular, you agree not to:
- Attempt to access non-public areas of the Site, interfere with security controls, or probe for vulnerabilities.
- Use scraping, crawling, or automated tools in a way that imposes unreasonable load or bypasses access controls.
- Submit false, misleading, or impersonated information through contact forms or tip channels.
- Upload malware, phishing content, or links intended to compromise devices or accounts.
- Use the Site to harass, threaten, or intimidate individuals, including newsroom staff or sources.
- Access the Site from regions or in a manner prohibited by applicable sanctions or export-control laws.
We may limit, suspend, or block access when we reasonably believe these Terms have been violated, including to protect the integrity of the Site and the safety of staff and sources.
5. Tips, submissions, and communications
If you send us tips, recordings, screenshots, or messages (collectively, “Submissions”), you represent that you have the right to share them and that sharing them does not breach a legal obligation you owe to another party. Do not send us personal data about others unless it is necessary for the journalistic purpose and you have a lawful basis to disclose it. Avoid sending special-category data where possible.
We do not promise publication of any Submission. We may use Submissions as leads, for verification, or for background. We may contact you for corroboration, clarifications, or additional context. If confidentiality is needed, say so explicitly and early. We will treat source safety seriously, but we cannot guarantee absolute security for information sent over the internet.
6. Intellectual property
The Site and its content, including articles, layout, design elements, logos, and code, are owned by or licensed to FADI B.V. and are protected by intellectual property laws. You may view, print, and share links to pages for personal and non-commercial use. You may not reproduce, republish, distribute, or create derivative works from Site content without prior written permission, except where such use is permitted by applicable quotation rights or similar exceptions.

7. Third-party services and links
The Site may reference or link to third-party websites, platforms, or tools for context. Those third parties are not under our control. 8. Disclaimer of warranties
The Site is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Site will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free, or that any content is complete, current, or suitable for any particular use.
9. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, FADI B.V. and Irvako Newsroom will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenue, data, goodwill, or business opportunities, arising out of or related to your use of (or inability to use) the Site, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.
To the extent direct damages are permitted, our total liability for all claims arising out of or related to these Terms or the Site is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you paid to us for services in the 12 months immediately preceding the event giving rise to the claim, or (b) €100.
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations of liability. In such cases, the limitations above apply only to the extent permitted by law.
10. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless FADI B.V., Irvako Newsroom, and our directors, employees, contractors, and agents from and against any claims, damages, liabilities, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or related to (a) your misuse of the Site, (b) your breach of these Terms, or (c) your Submissions, including allegations that your Submissions infringe intellectual property rights or violate privacy rights.
11. Force majeure
We are not responsible for delays or failures in performance resulting from events beyond our reasonable control, including natural disasters, labour disputes, war, government actions, pandemic-related disruptions, power failures, internet outages, cyberattacks, or third-party hosting and network failures.
12. International use
The Site is operated from the Netherlands and is intended for a general audience. We make no representation that the Site is appropriate or legally available in all locations. If you access the Site from outside the Netherlands, you are responsible for compliance with local laws that may apply to your use.
13. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access to the Site at any time if we reasonably believe you have violated these Terms or if we need to protect the Site, staff, sources, or the public. Sections relating to intellectual property, disclaimers, limitation of liability, indemnification, and governing law will survive termination.
14. Governing law and jurisdiction
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Netherlands, without regard to its conflict of laws rules. To the extent permitted by law, the courts located in the Netherlands will have exclusive jurisdiction over disputes arising out of or related to these Terms or the Site. If you are a consumer resident in the European Union, you may also have mandatory consumer rights and protections under the laws of your country of residence.
15. Miscellaneous
If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in effect. Our failure to enforce any provision does not constitute a waiver of that provision. These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and us regarding the Site. You may not assign your rights or obligations under these Terms without our prior written consent; we may assign these Terms as part of a business transfer.
